Always the goal, seldom the result

Perfection is always my goal, but seldom the result. However, Sugar Mommy nominated one of my posts for a Perfect Post award. She’s having a tough go right now, and I am doubly honored that she’d take time in the middle of All That to do so.

The post in question was Why Did It Take So Long?, about taking Captain Adventure to the river. It was a wonderful, bitter-sweet day, and I’m gratified to know it touched others, too.

It's well-deserved, my dear. Congratulations.

I read the post that was nominated - you wrote it so beautifully. It especially struck a chord because yesterday, for the first time, my 4-year-old got to ride the bus home from the city with me. I commute on the bus every day so it was no big deal to me, but he thought it was a complete adventure. He oohed and ahhed at the things I've taken for granted after all this time. And this morning, on the way to preschool he said "Mom - I was thinking about yesterday and my great adventure. I think it was my best day since I was 4." -- And like you, I wondered, how come it's taken so long?
