@*^&@ing Ravelry!!

So I went onto Ravelry to add the Creatures of the Reef and my current Sock in Progress (which I haven’t done yet, actually – I got distracted) to my project list. And I had a very nice message from a new friend on the site, and I read that, and then I stalked her all over the site took a look at the groups and projects she enjoys, and then I found a group with a bunch of old friends and acquaintances (Fools Rule!) and one stalking thing led to another and the next thing I know I’m on Elann printing out approximately sixteen thousand gorgeous (and also FREE!) shawl patterns and my husband is all, “Excuse me, but we have to go soon, are you planning to get those kids packed or what?” and I’m all, “Just a second! Just one second! I’m almost done!”, which is a dirty lie because EXCUSE ME, now that I have the patterns I’m thinking about the yarn requirements

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go remove the part in that last post where I say “no Internet purchases either” take care of…some things.

Ravelry. Blessing, or curse?

Discuss among yourselves.

That's why I was so hesitant to join it, and why even now I don't go there very often. It's such a (fabulous) time-suck!

Ack! I forgot... I went on twice earlier to add pics of my last FO and completely forgot to do it both times! Thanks for reminding me! LOL

"Just one more minute" means nothing to my family now. Well, off to the Elan link. Thank you, I think.

Oh, did you do that on purpose? I couldn't link to Elann. Good one!

*sigh* There's a reason I never visit Ravelry... it's sort of the gateway drug to things that sap my wallet...

WOT - everything to do with knitting surely is a blessing!
What you're experiencing is life getting in the way of knitting and that really is serious business!

Ravelry is a blessing. If not for it I'd be stuck knitting cheesy random things on the internet or things I've already seen other bloggers knit. Wait, I want to knit those things anyhow...oh well. At least now we have a huge resource to find them.

Yay!! You found us.

While I love Ravelry, I'm the laziest person there. I've never uploaded stash details or UFO details or anything. One day, I'll get around to it.

Oh, I'm too scared of Ravelry to even go on. Isn't that sick? I mean, I did finally dip in a toe, but I only use it as a "research tool," to see what other people made X sweater and in what yarn and how it worked for them. I've had people "yell" at me for not turning on my email there, etc., etc., but imagine if I did - between blogging and ravelry-ing... when would I have time to make people dinner?!

What do I think of Ravelry?

Check out my queue http://www.ravelry.com/people/kaviare/queue

Almost 500 projects. Wtf? Do I seriously think I am EVER going to knit half of those?

On the other hand, it's useful for yarn subs. And stuff.
